INTRODUCTION

In collaboration with their Adani IT team and IBM, UNICIRCUIT engineered a cutting-edge, hands-free solution using the industrial-grade Real Wear Navigator™ 500. By developing a custom Android application with secure API integration, we enabled plant personnel to scan barcodes and access real-time data from the central inventory system through simple voice commands.

This project successfully transformed inventory operations, achieving unprecedented levels of accuracy, efficiency, and worker safety.

CHALLENGES

The warehouse and operations staff at the Adani plant required immediate access to accurate inventory data in a challenging industrial environment.
Traditional methods involved:

• Time-consuming processes to verify item details against a central system.
• Compromised safety as workers had to divide their attention between handling devices and navigating the plant floor.
• Data latency, with paper logs creating a lag in updating the digital system of record.

The objective was clear: empower the workforce with a solution that provided real-time data access while being completely hands-free and intrinsically safe for use in an industrial setting.

SOLUTION IMPLEMENTED

UNICIRCUIT designed and delivered an end-to-end solution centered on the robust RealWear Navigator™ 500 and a custom-built software application.

1. Hardware: The RealWear Navigator™ 500
We deployed the industrial-grade headset, selected for its:
• Hands-Free, Voice-Controlled Operation: Allowing workers
to keep their eyes on the task and hands on the job.
• Industrial Ruggedness: Intrinsically Safe (Class 1, Div 2) certification, making it perfect for the plant environment.

2. Network & Connectivity
      The solution was designed for maximum flexibility:

• Secure Plant Wi-Fi: Primary operation on the client’s secured wireless network.
Mobile Hotspot Capability: Ensuring uninterrupted connectivity and mobility in remote areas ofthe facility.

3. The Core Innovation: Custom Software & Secure API Integration
     In close collaboration with the Adani and IBM IT teams, UNICIRCUIT developed a bespoke Android application built on a secure, API-first framework.

1. SCAN: User issues a voice command, “Scan Barcode,” to capture the 128-bit barcode.
2. REQUEST: The app instantly sends the barcode data to the Adani system’s API endpoint.
3. RESPONSE: Adani’s backend processes the request and returns a structured JSONpacket with all item
details.
4. DISPLAY: The UNICIRCUIT app parses and displays the information clearly on the headset screen.

Phase 1: Instant Scanning & Data Fetching
A warehouse worker approaches an item, issues a simple voice command, and scans the barcode. The connection to the live database is immediate.
